Darlene Hayes, aka LA BeadLady has been making beads full time since early 2006. A relative newcomer to the lampwork world, she has immersed herself in the medium by continually experimenting and educating herself. Although her career as a registered nurse spanned over 20 years, she always had an artists heart and soul. She now spends her time creating unique organic and fantasy beads in soft glass. Considering herself a colorist, the focus is placed on color reactions and unique combinations. Pure silver, palladium and highly silvered glasses are favorite components. She also is the co-inventor of the Precision Marver, a patented hands-free lampworking tool, in collaboration with Jerry Gaydusek of Retro Glass Tools.
